LAHORE: The Customs Appellate Tribunal Lahore has started computerization of the record since the inception of the tribunal.
Sources told Customs Today that task of computerization of record has been assigned to the staff. Record of almost 15 years is going to be computerized while the record of recent cases is also being updated simultaneously.
The sources informed that computerization will help the members and staff of the tribunal to search any past case electronically rather than searching heap of files. Lawyers and appellants could also get advantage by the computerization of the record, they said. The sources added it is a time taking matter and currently no last date has been announced to complete the computerization process. They hope that computerization of record will be completed as soon as possible.
Similarly, the Inland Revenue appellate tribunal has also started to computerize record to help litigants. In December, 2014, Inland Revenue Appellate Tribunal Headquarters Bench Chairman Javed Masood Tahir Bhatti had said that the record of cases was being computerized to facilitate the appellants. He said all appellants would be able to get information about their cases by only sending a sms after the computerization of the record.
