KARACHI: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has announced to launch a special drive against drugs trafficking in every part of the country.
The anti-narcotics operation will continue across the country to control such elements involved in heinous activities, said Anti-Narcotics Force Director General Major General Nasir Dilawar Shah HI (M).
In a special message to the media, he said that ANF would soon be launching a special drive at national level against the narcotics business, smuggling and distribution at drug hideouts.
He urged all the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) specially Sindh Rangers, police, Sindh Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Department, Customs, Maritime Security Agency (MSA), Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG), Intelligence Bureau (IB), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and other agencies to join hands with ANF.
“Lets break the backbone of the drug business in the country,” said the commander of Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF). He urged the civil society, business community and the media to support the drive against narcotics. He said, “We all have to join hands to save our future generation from the menace of drugs, extremism, terrorism and corruption”.
Meanwhile, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Sindh Force Commander and Regional Director Brigadier Abuzar have maintained that one million people in Karachi are spending a substantial amount in drug abuse. He said on Thursday that ANF is taking strict measures against drug abuse and other related crimes. In last three months, the force has confiscated 5,500 kilogrammes of narcotics, he added.
On the accession, Col Asim, Dr Mansoor Shaikh and other officers of the force were also present. Force Commander Brig Abuzar further said that the ANF is conducting operation against narcotics throughout the province.
