KARACHI: The Appraisers’ Association of Model Customs Collectorate of Appraisement-West has decided to hold a meeting today, regarding the issue pertaining to register FIRs against eight appraisers of Group-I and Group-IV in their alleged involvement in malpractices and using unfair means in clearing the consignments.
The sources in MCC-Appraisement-West on condition of anonymity informed Customs Today that the appraisers association will hold a meeting at parking area of Custom House on Saturday and discuss the said issue in detail.
The sources further confirmed this scribe that the association may go for strike for an indefinite period, if their issues would not be redressed.
It may be mentioned here that the high officials of Pakistan Customs have decided to take strict actions in case of any alleged involvement of Pakistan Customs officials in any case of corruption and malpractice.
It is pertinent to mention here that the authorities concerns of MCC-Appraisement have recently suspended five officials including Principal Appraiser, Upper Division Clerks (UDCs) and sepoys of FTA Cell in their alleged involvement in unfair means.
