LAHORE: Customs Enforcement Central Region has collected Rs4,172.59 million customs duty which is more than double the assigned target of Rs1891. 02 million as well as last year collection of Rs2072.63 million during the month of June.
Official sources said probably it’s the only Region of Customs as well as Inland Revenue in Pakistan which has registered an increase of 101% over the last year customs duty collection.
Equally or more important is that Customs Enforcement Central Region has also surpassed the assigned customs duty collection target for June 2020 by achieving 221% of the onthly Target, they added.
“This is an unprecedented achievement by any Customs or Inland Revenue Region for Revenue targets assigned by FBR to various Customs Regions or Inland Revenue Units for the month of June 2020,” it was informed.
Chief Collector Enforcement Central Region Faiz Ahmad has attributed this historic achievement to the new Customs leadership of Tariq Huda and exemplary team work of Officers as well as all ranks of Customs Enforcement Central Region.
“Officers of Customs have displayed courage , determination and devotion to national cause of resource mobilisation by always leading from the front , laying their lives by performing beyond the call of duty against all odds and challenges emanated from Covid -19 pandemic, ” the chief collector said.
He duly acknowledged the critical contribution and support of Collectors and Additional Collectors without whose support this all time highest comparative increase in Custom duty collection during last month of fiscal year would not have been possible.
