KARACHI: The Chief Collector Enforcement-South Muhammad Nazim Saleem departed for Quetta for his 3-day visit in order to hold meetings with the officers/officials of Model Customs Collectorate Quetta.
Sources informed Customs Today that the Chief Collector Enforcement-South Muhammad Nazim Saleem to hold meetings with the Collector Quetta Raja Zahoor and other officers.
They further disclosed that the anti-smuggling strategy would be the prime agenda of the meetings convene by the Chief Collector Enforcement-South and also the performance of the officials/officers of the Quetta Collectorate would be reviewed.
They further said that the Chief Collector Enforcement-South Muhammad Nazim Saleem has taken keen interest towards the anti-smuggling steps being taken by the Collectorates of the South region including MCC-Preventive, Karachi; MCC-Gwadar and MCC-Quetta to uproot the smuggling and illegal means of trade.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Tariq Bajwa and Member Customs Nisar Muhammad Ali during their recent visits to Customs House-Karachi had also emphasized on evolving effective strategy to eliminate smuggling activities in the country.
It may be mentioned here that the Chief Collector Muhammad Nazim Saleem has already visited MCC Gwadar and met with the officers/officials of the Collectorate in order to review their performance and steps taken by the authorities of the MCC Gwadar towards eliminating the smuggling menace.
The MCC Gwadar during its anti-smuggling operations has seized contraband/smuggled items worth millions from Khurkherra Check-post.
