QUETTA: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement and Compliance (E&C) has seized smuggled goods vehicles which were being used for transportation of smuggled goods worth Rs170 million in the first week of June 2021.
According to the details, credible information was received by Chief Collector Gul Rehman that huge quantity of non duty paid goods will be smuggled into the country via different routes. He immediately directed Collector Irfan Javed to use all available resources to thwart any attempt of smuggling.
Additional Collector Yasir Kalwar and Deputy Collector Akbar Jan also directed customs teams deployed at various check posts as well as the mobile squads to maintain strict vigilance on specified weak points.
As a result, recently within first week of June, 2021 large quantity of foreign origin smuggled goods were seized.
The approximate value of seized goods alongwith vehicle used for carriage of smuggled goods is Rs170 million. It is further added that the intensified anti-smuggling drive by Customs as well as with the support of Law Enforcement Agencies has resulted in manifold increase in seizures.
