LAHORE: New recruitment in Pakistan Customs, as per instructions of the Federal Board of Revenue, is under process. As per policy of the government, a transparent merit based procedure has been adopted for recruitment in different cadres of Pakistan Customs.
The Federal Board of Revenue has engaged Open Testing Service (OTS), for initial screening, skills test and written test for the posts of LDC (BS-09). Departmental Selection Committees have been formed by the FBR which will conduct interviews of the qualifying/short listed candidates.
In case of recruitment of sepoys and drivers, a procedure has been devised in light of decision of the government wherein after the initial screening and selection of qualified candidates, final recruitment is done through balloting.
In this regard, for recruitment of sepoys and drivers, in Customs Appraisement Lahore, Customs Preventive Lahore, Customs Sialkot, Customs Multan, Customs Appraisement, Faisalabad, Directorate of Customs Valuation, Lahore, and Directorate of PCA, Lahore, balloting was conducted, on 11″ November, 2019, in Custom House, Lahore.
The balloting was done through technical assistance provided by OTS and was supervised by Ms. ZebaHai Azhar, Chief Collector Customs (Enforcement), Central, Lahore. To make the process transparent, representatives of media were also invited to witness the selection process.
In total 97 Sepoys and 02 drivers were selected through balloting, which included 09 women and 05 minority candidates. On One frash and one naib qasid was also selected.
The names of the successful candidates will be forwarded to the respective Organizations for issuance of appointment letters. A separate list of substitute candidates was also drawn, in case some of the principal selected candidates do not join or accept the offer of appointment.
