FAISALABAD:The Anti Smuggling Organization ( ASO) Faisalabad seized smuggled cloth. The weight of seized clothes are 780 kilograms while its market value is Rs 5,47,216/-. The cloth were being transported to Lahore via Faisalabad.
Sources told Customs Today¸that Collector Customs Faisalabad Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary received credible information about smuggled cloth. The collector immediaely formed a ASO team comprising Muhammad Javed Mehmood (superintendent), Muhammad Sardar (deputy superintendent), Abdul Jabbar and Masood Saeed Chohan (inspectors) Asrar Ahmad, Haffiz Naseer Ahmad (sepoys ).
The ASO team intercepted a vehicle bearing registeration No. LR-4976 near Motorway Chowk Kamalpur Sargodha Road Faisalabad and seized the cloth.
The ASO team asked the driver of the vehicle who is identified as Muhammad Anwar son of Rehmat Ali and conductor Ajmal Khan to produce documents regarding possession of cloth but the failed to produce the same. After which ASO team seized the cloth and registered a case of smuggling against accused person.
