FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I and I) has confiscated items worth Rs 17.38 million in October.
The Directorate of Customs Investigation Faisalabad has seized smuggled goods worth Rs 17.38 million from different areas in its jurisdiction, including Faisalabad, Sargodha, and FIU Khoushab city during October, 2015.
Talking to Customs Today, Customs Intelligence Additional Director Azmat Tahira stated that confiscated smuggled goods were including imported alloy rimz, black paper, blankets, zeera, coconut, dal chini, socks (Different brand’s and size ) as well as smuggled generator and vehicles.
The sources further told that Deputy Director Muhammad Riaz Customs I and I, Faisalabad has supervised the whole operation against the smuggled goods and Vehicles during month of October.
According to Customs Intelligence, it has confiscated imported smuggled blankets 1512 kilograms worth Rs 1 million black paper 931 kilograms, Zeera 2000 kilograms, Coconut bags and Dal chini 750 kilograms, worth Rs 1.8 million imported Alloy Rim and Docks (different brands and size), worth Rs 1.4 million, Zeera Gunny bags 8532 kilograms worth Rs 1.05 million and also imported generator, 250 KVA, Cummand brand worth Rs 1.7 million.
Director added that intelligence staff has registered eight vehicles seizure cases in the month of October, while four cases were registered by Faisalabad region, worth Rs 3.1 million that vehicles used for transpiration for smuggling purpose.
Meanwhile, four cases by FIU khoushab were detected and that smuggled vehicles brought into country without paying customs duty and taxes. She aside that of these four vehicles seizure cases have been referred to the customs adjudication for further legal action which including 5.54 million duty and taxes.
While comparing the performance of corresponding period, She Sadie that Customs intelligence has seized smuggled vehicles from Faisalabad region including fielder Mini truck No. FDJ- 340 worth Rs 500,000 Bed ford Truck no. DNB- 2065 Worth Rs 300,000, Hino Mini Truck No. LES- 9050 worth Rs 1.5 million, Mazda mini Truck no: LES-10- 2684 worth Rs 800,000 in October.
