ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has claimed victory against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan as people have paid more taxes in the first quarter of current fiscal year, rejecting Khan’s civil disobedience call.
Ishaq Dar giving details said that tax collection has witnessed 13.2 per cent growth from July to September of financial year 2014-15 due to the steps taken by the PML-N government. He said that Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected Rs543 billion during first quarter as compared to Rs480 billion it collected during the corresponding period of last year. The federal minister further said that international financial institutions, economic experts and foreign investors had acknowledged the government’s economic achievements.
