ISLAMABAD: In a bid to facilitate taxpayers for filing the income tax returns for 2014, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has established more than 200 tax facilitation kiosk and tax facilitation centres throughout the country.
The facilitation centres would be set up at business centres, offices of traders’ associations, chambers of commerce and industry, national and provincial assembly buildings, federal secretariat, civil secretariats in all the provincial capitals, press club in Islamabad and in the four provincial capitals, offices of the big public sector enterprises and important markets where maximum number of taxpayers can avail this facility.
According to FBR, knowledgeable and competent staff has been deputed in these kiosk and the centres to guide and assist the taxpayers in the filing of tax returns. The details of such kiosk and centres and the contact numbers of the personnel manning these kiosk and centres are being displayed on the FBR website (www.fbr.gov.pk) for the convenience of the taxpayers. These kiosk and centres would remain operational from Monday through Saturday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm daily, and till 8:00pm on 29th and 30th of September, 2014. The prescribed Performa of returns and wealth statement are available on these kiosk and centres. The kiosk and centres would provide education and guidance to the taxpayers, and would help the taxpayers to properly fill in the tax declarations. The taxpayers are requested to contact the nearest tax facilitation kiosk and tax facilitation centre in case of any difficulty or problem in filing their returns.
Meanwhile, a special desk on the premises of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been established to facilitate the filing of tax returns. The FBR has Deputed Assistant Commissioner FBR Khurram Fakhar Siddiqui to guide and help the LCCI members regarding filing of tax returns.
