ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) has asked government to renovate trade missions by installing qualified traders as commerce advisers to improve the country’s exports.
ICCI President Shaban Khalid said that government should appoint business persons and entrepreneurs for trade missions as they reserve quota for journalist in foreign missions because businessmen can better handle the business interests of country. He urged the government to allot a quota to women entrepreneurs too in trade missions for better representation of woman in trade development.
Moreover, he said that our country has been unable to realize its export potential because of lack of representation of business community in trade missions. “Business community has better understanding about trade dynamics and if given a chance, they could better serve the trade missions to promote exports” he added.
