GWADAR: Collectorate of Customs team seized huge quantity of Iranian diesel worth Rs8.90 million including vehicle being used for smuggling on Friday.
Sources told Customs Today on that Deputy Collector Junaid Mehmood received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle Iranian diesel from Gwadar to Karachi.
After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Zia ur Rehman and others. The team during a search operation on Highway Road intercepted a oil tanker bearing registration no: GNM-074.
During the search, the team impounded more than 22 thousand Irani diesel worth Rs 8.90 million including truck being used in smuggling.
The team seized all Iranian diesel and arrested the truck driver. Sources told that customs officials started investigations from the accused person.
