GWADAR: Collecctorate of Customs has foiled a bid to smuggle 435 kilograms of hashish worth Rs100 million.
Sources said that Customs staff deputed at Khurkhera check post intercepted a truck carrying scrap at at main RCD highway. However, the driver of the vehicle sped away.
Customs team chased the vehicle, and the driver left the vehicle on the side of the road and escaped. Detailed checking of the vehicle led to recovery of huge quantity of high quality charas from the secret cavities of the vehicle. An FIR is lodged and investigations are underway.
The operation was conducted by the team constituted by Collector Javed Chaudry, on the directives of Chief Collector Gul Rehman.
