HYDERABAD: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Range Office Sukkur has impounded huge quantity of smuggled goods including edibles loaded in a passenger bus near Sabzi Market in Jacobabad. The value of the seized goods is Rs3.74 million.
Sources said that after receiving credible information, Additional Director Jamshed Talpur enhanced vigilance on suspected routes and check posts. A suspected bus was intercepted, which was found to be stuffed with foreign origin skimmed milk powder, almonds, China salt, zeera and shoppers.
The driver of the vehicle could not produce legal documents regarding legitimate import and lawful possession of the goods.
Earlier, in an operation, I&I Sukkur recovered large quantity of smuggled print circuit boards worth Rs18.75 million. These goods were being transported from Karachi to upcountry.
