TORONTO: Apple is facing licit action over the amount of recollection required by its latest mobile operating system iOS 8, after many users had trouble installing the update due to its size. Users with 8GB or 16GB contrivances had quandaries as the update took up a sizably voluminous chunk of their devices’ storage.
The suit claims Apple failed to tell its users that as much as 23 per cent of the devices’ advertised storage capacity would be utilized by the operating system.
The storage issue sparked a fury of tweets from irate Apple users who verbalized they were coerced to efface pictures, videos and other precious files from their contrivances in order to make space for the update.
“Deleted every app and photo to get enough room to download iOS 8 and ostensibly I still don’t have enough room,” verbalized But some users did find a workaround.
