ROME: Italy’s business and consumer confidence rose more than expected in June after last month’s fall, according to the latest data from national statistics office Istat. Consumer confidence in recession-hit Italy rose to 109.5 in June from an upwardly revised 106.0 in May. The economic, personal, current and future components all decreased, said Istat.
The composite business confidence index increased from 101.8 in May to 104.3, with morale among Italian manufacturers improving from 103.4 to 103.9 and retail trade confidence rising from 103.9 to 105.9.
