Federal minister for industries meets with Belorussian counterpart
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi met with Belorussian Minister of Industry Vitaly Vovk and discussed investment opportunities in auto sector.
Vovk conveyed Belorussia’s interest of setting up plants to assemble automobile parts, buses, tractors and grain harvesters within Pakistan.
He also showed interest in military related manufacturing and assembling endeavours, and asked the Federal Minister for recommendations on private sector companies which could forward their diverse ambitions.
Furthermore, Vovk said that Belorussia would also consider technological upgrade and expansion of existing facilities.
The minister extended support to his Belorussian counterpart and assured Pakistan’s full support in any and all ways.
The minister invited Vovk to visit Heavy Mechanical Complex (HMC), Taxila to get a better understanding of the present infrastructure that Pakistan can offer for their cause.
He also suggested the viability of joint venture proposals between Pakistan and Belorussia for solutions, and that his office will assist the Belorussian government in selecting the best possible private sector investors for their plans.
Similarly the minister proposed the use of Pakistan’s industrial parks for trade and investment development opportunities, and assured Vovk that Belorussia will be allowed to export their manufactured or assembled products from Pakistan to other regions across the globe as well.
The minister stressed the need of high quality tractors and grain harvesters for agricultural modernization in Pakistan and recommended that Belorussia initiate the process of formulation of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Pakistan to streamline trade development.
