LAHORE: Lahore Police distributed cheques amounting to Rs85 million among 60 affectees of a private housing society (Pearl Garden Housing Society) situated at Ferozepur Road Kahna during a ceremony held at Capital City Police Headquarters Lahore.
Capital City Police Officer Lahore and Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar graced the ceremony as chief guest and distributed cheques among the affectees. The ceremony was attended by senior police officers including DIG Operations Lahore Sajid Kiani, SP Operations Model Town Division Dost Muhammad, SP Investigation Model Town Asim Iftikhar, SDPO Kahna Circle ASP Muhammad Shoaib and a large number of affectees of the said housing society.
The affected citizens of the private housing society have appeared before the CCPO Lahore in an open court few months ago and lodged complaints against the fraud being done with more than 118 persons in the name of sale of plots amounting to rupees 9.5 crore by the owner of the housing society Imran Bajwa who befooled and looted the money of life savings of poor and middle class simpleton citizens. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar had constituted a high level action committee comprising DIG Investigation, DIG Operations and members from the affected public.
The committee under guidance of CCPO Lahore and coordination of concerned Police, Land Developers and Business Community, worked day and night to make this complicated task accomplish and the return of payments to the affectees as soon as possible. While addressing the Ceremony, the CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar termed the Lahore Police as protectors of citizens as its prime objective is to serve the nation and country.
Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said that common people have been the true beneficiaries of Lahore Police actions against criminals, fraudulents and anti peace elements. CCPO Lahore further said that about Rs 8.5 crore rupees have been recovered from this housing society owners during the record period whereas the efforts are being made to recover the remaining amount to disburse among the affectees.
GhThe CCPO Lahore said the Lahore Police has been putting all efforts to ensure the compensation of hard earned money of the affectees of this sector. He said people should refrain from investing their money in fake housing schemes. It has been observed that some housing societies’ owners are busy in befooling the public. Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has warned the land grabbers, goons and their facilitators to quit their illegal activities of harassing citizens and possessing their properties otherwise strict action will be taken against them.
