LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has asked the customs authorities of Lahore to release stationary goods and bared them to receive sales tax.
According to details Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh ordered the customs authorities to release stationary goods and directed the commissioner Inland Revenue to stop receiving sales tax on these goods.
Applicant Muhammad Mohsin Virk advocate while making parties to federal government, Federal Board of Revenue and customs authorities has said that as per Fifth Schedules serial number 12 there is no sales tax on stationary items. This article clearly says that stationary items are zero rated.
On petition after arguments by both parties the honorable court has bared the Inland Revenue and customs to take back their steps.
