ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Chinese investors has nodded to invest in Pakistan’s energy sector especially in the projects of LNG import and also looked into the other investment opportunities available in the country.
The delegation, led by Bank of China International Chief Executive Officer/Chairperson Li Tong, has expressed their interest during a meeting with Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in Islamabad. The delegation, that is on a four-day visit to Pakistan, comprised of the representatives of M/s China Tianrui Group, M/s Metallurgical Corporation of China, M/s BOC International Holdings Limited, M/s GCL-Poly Energy Holdings Limited and M/s Shandong Hi-Speed Group Co.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi briefed the Chinese investors on the energy sector of Pakistan and its ongoing projects. He said that the government was committed to cope with the energy crisis in the country and had started a number of new projects, like, import of LNG, installation of re-gasification terminals and to laying down new pipelines for transportation of the fuel from the southern ports to the upcountry.
The Chinese delegation appreciated expressed their resolve to avail investment opportunities offered by the government of Pakistan especially in the projects linked with the import of the LNG.
