LAHORE: The dealers and marketing companies of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) are fleecing the consumers as the temperature further low and selling LPG at Rs240 per kilogram against its official rate of Rs150 per kilogram in Lahore and Rawalpindi.
Authorities of the district administration stated that preparations have been finalized to take action against the shop owners who are overcharging.
In this regard, special teams led by magistrates have been formed in different parts of the province where retailers of the LPG were overcharging from the consumers.
In many parts of Rawalpindi district including Chungi No 22 area, Bakran Mandi, Dhoke Syedian, Saddar, Raja Bazar and areas of Cantonment board the LPG is being sold over Rs200 per kg under the nose of district administration and Station commander of Rawalpindi.
