MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement & Compliance has collected almost Rs22.69 million under the heads of Customs duty, Sales taxes and Income taxes during month of September 2021-22.
The Federal Board of Revenue has not allocated any revenue collection target to Model Customs Collectorate Enforcement & Compliance (E&C) so far. Multan Customs has collected Rs.18.26 million in wake of Customs duty during the month of September financial year 2021-22.
Multan Customs Collectorate has collected almost Rs.2.45 million under the head of Sales taxes during month of September in fiscal year 2021-22 and collected almost Rs.1.98 million under the head of Sales taxes during August in the financial year 2021-22.
In addition to regular/routine collection of duty/taxes, an effective strategy was devised to specially focus on areas to enhance revenue through administrative measures like auction, Anti-smuggling, as well as crediting of seized/confiscated currency into National Bank of Pakistan.
Besides, taking concrete measures towards facilitation of trade and ease of doing customs business, the measures taken on both revenues worked very well and the collectorate was able to achieve the assigned target in all areas besides trade facilitation.
Several facilitation measures were also undertaken by the collectorate during August FY 2021-22 some of which are briefed as the Currency Declaration System (CDS) has been installed at Multan International Airport which is facilitating foreigners. Likewise, a separate PMDU Cell has also been created to redress grievances.
