MULTAN: The Customs Collectorate collected Rs3270.976 million during the month of April of fiscal year 2017-18.
The Collectorate of the Multan Customs has done collection of Rs991.705 million under the head of customs duty against the assigned target of Rs.874.020 million during April. Multan Customs has surpassed the assigned revenue collection task of customs duty due to effective strategy of Collector Ambreen Ahmad Tarar.
The collectorate had collected customs duty of Rs722 million during the same month of previous fiscal year (2016-17).The collectorate has posted 13.5 percent growth in the collection of customs duty in March.
The collectorate has poised Rs2228.647 million in wakes of sales tax against the assigned revenue collection task of Rs2786.32 million during April. The collection of sales tax has observed sudden decline due to less import clearances of ex-bonding of high speed diesel (HSD) from Multan Collectorate. Multan Customs was able to collect Rs2472.010 million in the corresponding month of April for economic year 2016-17.
The Multan Customs Collectorate collected federal excise duty (FED) of Rs25.099 million beside target of Rs8.57 million for the duration of April. It was able to collect Rs7.860 million in the corresponding month of the preceding fiscal year 2016-17.It made collection of Income tax of Rs24.239 million against set target of Rs11.30 million in the said period.
The Collectorate of Multan Customs had collected Rs10.560 under the head of Income tax during matching period of monetary year 2016-17. Multan Customs showed positive progress in the revenue collection of Federal Excise Duty and Income taxes due to effective strategy.
