MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Enforcement & Compliance has generated Rs13.43 million from auction of perishable food items lying at the State Warehouse.
The Collectorate has carried out special auction to dispose perishable goods. Perishable goods were seized by Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization in their various operations. The auction was held at Customs House after the approval of Collector Imran Ahmad Chaudhry. Multan Customs ensured special precautionary measures during the auction to prevent public from Corona spread-out and participants of auction were asked to wear face mask and instruction for social distance were also followed during auction. Perishable food items are auctioned before its expiry.
As many as four various different lots of fresh apples of Afghan origins of almost 20090 Kilograms, dried plums, cakes and others were sold out in almost Rs13.43 million during auction of Customs. During auction several brands of chewing gum chic brand, bubble gum, Hi Bye Hazel Nuts centre filled cookie, digestive sweet meal biscuit, Cakes, coconut powder, fruit bar, Pazira fruit bar, fruit roll and other items were presented for auction but they were not sold out due to near expiry.
Assistant Collector Umer Sajjad supervised the whole auction process of confiscated goods and vehicles at Multan Customs along with other staff to ensure timely disposal of perishable goods.
