TORONTO: Nokia has reached a milestone for one of its popular apps. HERE Maps was originally made available on Samsung’s Android-powered Galaxy smartphones and on its Tizen-based Gear S smartwatch. It was later brought to all through Google Play for devices running Android 4.1.
According to the stats on Google Play, HERE Maps has successfully been downloaded between “1,000,000 – 5,000,000″ times, so the actual downloads could be much higher. HERE Maps directly competes with Google Maps and Apple Maps and offers complete maps navigation, along with offline viewing.
As for HERE Maps coming to iOS, Nokia previously stated, “following the positive reviews of HERE for Android, a lot of people have expressed their interest in an iOS version of our app. company really appreciate this interest and demand.
