LAHORE: Governor Punjab, Rafiq Rajwana said that international rating agencies had declared that the country’s economy was improving and its effects were being trickling down to the masses.
To a question, he said people demanded a new province when they faced problems. The new provinces were need of the hour as assembly resolutions for two new ones in South Punjab already existed, he added.
To another question, he said the Punjab government was making policies to address the basic problems of people of the province.
About media role in shaping up public opinion, Rajwana said it was the fourth pillar of the state. “We had to go hand in hand with each other.”
The governor informed that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had convened an APC on Pakistan-China Economic Corridor issue on May 28 to create consensus on the issue.
