Rawalpindi I&I impounds smuggled goods & vehicles worth Rs55m

ISLAMABAD: The Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Rawalpindi have seized Rs55 million of smuggled goods and non duty paid vehicles during first quarter of financial year 2021-22.

Talking with Customs Today ,Asghar Khan Deputy Director Intelligence and Investigation have told that during first quarter (July to September) 2021-22 the Directorate have showed good performance he said that during month of September the Directorate seized huge quantity of narcotics comprises one kilogram of Ice, 01 Kg of Heroin, 07 kg of charas wet and 11 kg of opium wet. The total value of seized drugs is estimated Rs13.7 million.

He further told that during the same month the Directorate also seized NDP (non duty paid) vehicles comprises Toyota Aqua car, Toyota Vitz car, Toyota Corolla car and Diahatsu Mira car while beside said seizures the Directorate seized smuggled goods comprises 6718 Pisces of ladies sweaters, 48 bags, 24182 numbers of girls sweaters, 152 numbers of ladies bags.

Telling the details of seized goods during month of August 2021-22 he said that during August the Directorate seized seven NDP vehicles including 02 numbers of Toyota Premio cars, one Premio car, two numbers of Vitz cars, one Honda car and one Diahatsu car.

Telling the seizures details of month of July the Deputy Director said that during July the Directorate made six seizures in worth of Rs.8.5 million and seized foreign origin Pine light and super slim cigarettes, Milano cigarettes, foreign origin Dunhill cigarettes, Benson and Hedges, David off, Milano furious red, Pine, European tobacco cigarettes, camel cigarettes, Mond silver, Gold leaf, Korean origin Raison cigarettes, Gold leaf John players cigarettes, Mint flavor Al Fakhar, Spain origin raw unfinished rolling paper, Indian origin Purified filtered tobacco and Tara filter, Cool clip tobacco filter.

The other goods seized during month of July were comprises foreign origin fabrics, Mint chewing, drawer steel handles non magnetic steel, Children umbrellas, polyester furnishing fabrics, motor capacitor, Submersible pumps parts, Drawer handle China origin, Inflatable rubber toy assorted shape, 01 number of NDP Suzuki swift car, Amul skimmed milk and Batook cardamom chewing gum,

Deputy Director Asghar Khan said that under direction of Directorate General the I&I Rawalpindi is working hard to stop the smuggling within its jurisdiction, he added that our efforts to stop smuggling will be continue.
