ISLAMABAD: The Senate’s Committee on Trade has sought lists of potential foreign investors from Pakistani envoys via the Foreign Office.
The Foreign Office director general (EC&IC) said no doubt they have sought the lists, but foreign investors were treated badly in the past. He suggested that the government should avoid repeating the same mistakes.
“If Pakistan wants to attract foreign investment it has to improve law and order and take measures and frame laws for the protection of foreign investors.”
He said overseas Pakistanis could not be forced to invest in Pakistan. However, Pakistani embassies or missions have never discouraged foreign investors and overseas Pakistanis from investing their money in Pakistan.
