KARACHI: Two ships C.V Maersk Memphis and M.T Miranda carrying containers and chemicals were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
Meanwhile three more ships Mykonos, Al-Soor-II and Grand Ace-12 with Containers, Diesel oil and Palm oil arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy observed at the Port at 53% on Tuesday where a total of eight ships namely Maersk Memphis, MSC Silvana, Al-Kharj, IVS Windsor, jumbo Jovelin, YM Miranda, Bunga Akasia and Nordic Gas were occupied PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Project Cargo, Coal, Chemicals, Palm oil and LPG respectively during last 24 hours. Cargo throughout during last 24 hours stood at 98,732 tonnes, comprising 51,707 tonnes import cargo and 47,025 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,609 containers (TEUs) (1,134 imports TUEs & 2,475 TUEs exports) was handled at the Port. Two ships, Chemicals carrier YM Miranda and Bulk Cargo carrier IVS Windsor sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning while two more ships, Containers Vessel Maersk Memphis and General cargo carrier Jumbo Jovelin are expected to sail on same day.
Three ships MSC Mykonos, Al-Soor-II and Maria-III carrying Containers, Diesel oil and LPG are expected to take berths at QICT, FOTCO and EVTL respectively on Wednesday. While another ship ‘CMA CGM Corneille’ is due to arrive at PQ on Thursday.
