KARACHI: The directorate general of customs valuation has determined the customs value of aluminum foil through Valuation Ruling No.686/2014 under Section 25-A of the Customs Act, 1969.
The directorate general of customs valuation initiated the exercise to determine the customs values of aluminum foil after it was brought into its notice that the subject goods were being imported at under-invoiced values. The stakeholders were a part in the determination of the customs values and meetings were held with them on August 26, 2014 and September 4, 2014. The meetings were attended by the representatives of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI) as well as the importers and other stakeholders.
According to the details, the customs value (C&F) of plain aluminum foil up to 10 micron having PCT Heading 7607.1100 and proposed PCT for WeBOC 7607.1100.1000 are fixed at $3.50 per kilogram. The customs value for plain aluminum foil above 10 but up to 20 micron is determined at $3.40 per kg.
Similarly, the Customs value (C&F) for plain aluminum foil above 20 and up to 65 micron; plain aluminum foil above 60 and upto 100 micron; plain aluminum foil above 100 and up to 150 micron and Plain Aluminum foil above 150 and up to 200 micron are fixed at $3.30 per kg; $3.20 per kg; $2.70 per kg and $2.60 per kg respectively. The customs values for plain aluminum sheet above 200 and up to 300 micron is set at $2.50 per kilogram while it is fixed at US$ 2.40 per kilogram and $2.30 per kilogram for plain aluminum sheet above 300 and up to 400 micron and plain aluminum sheet above 400 and up to 500 micron.
